Howrah Bridge is an iconic symbol of City of Joy attracts many tourists towards Kolkata,  massive steel Bridge connect the two main cities Kolkata and Howrah in West Bengal. Address :  Hooghly River, Munshi Prem Chand Sarani, Kolkata, West Bengal 700021 Vidyasagar Setu is the 2nd Hooghly bridge vin West Bengal that links Kolkata and Howrah. Vidyasagar Setu is the longest cable stayed Bridge in India. The total length of the bridge is 823 meters. It was named after Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. History : With the increase population and traffic, it is necessitated for a new bridge across the Hooghly river as it connect the two main districts. The foundation stone was laid by Indra Gandhi on 20 May 1972. According to Wikipedia,the bridge was designed by  Schlaich Bergermann & Partner , and checked by Freeman Fox & Partners and Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Limited.
