One of the most interesting fact is about its name Nakhuda- means mariner as the mosque was founded by the prince of ship , named kutchi Memon. The foundation stone was laid on 11 September 1926. The total cost incurred for the construction was 1,500,000 Indian rupees in 1926.  According to Wikipedia, The masjid has three domes and two minarets which are 151 feet high. Vidyasagar Setu is the longest cable stayed Bridge in India. The total length of the bridge is 823 meters. It was named after Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. History : With the increase population and traffic, it is necessitated for a new bridge across the Hooghly river as it connect the two main districts. The foundation stone was laid by Indra Gandhi on 20 May 1972. According to Wikipedia,the bridge was designed by  Schlaich Bergermann & Partner , and checked by Freeman Fox & Partners and Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Limited.
